A floor bed lets a toddler get in and out without help, and a low table gives them a place to sit, draw and eat at their own height. Both work best in a room with few things in it.
Choose bedding in natural fibres that can be washed at 40–60 °C, and keep toys to a handful that can be reached and put away. Rotate them every few weeks instead of adding more.
